Isabel Harder is a journalist, writer and producer based in Ottawa. ​

Isabel covers stories at the intersection of gender, health and culture. ​
​
She's an associate producer for CBC Ottawa's current affairs radio programs, All In A Day, In Town And Out, Ottawa Morning, and the This Is Ottawa podcast. She's also a multiplatform reporter in Ottawa, and remotely for Iqaluit.

She has been the content strategy coordinator for Ellum Media, and an activity coordinator for Global Summers Academy.

Isabel expects to graduate with her master of journalism from Carleton University in 2025. She graduated from Carleton in 2023 with a bachelor of journalism and a minor in legal studies.
During her undergrad, Isabel was editor-in-chief of the Charlatan, where she led a team of more than a dozen new journalists to cover stories that matter to students and the greater Ottawa community. She was also awarded several scholarships for her academic achievements, an executive member of the school’s journalism society, a peer mentor, a research assistant, and social media manager for Canada’s oldest campus radio station, CKCU.

She has strong copy editing skills, a solid understanding of news values and a firm grasp of what it takes to manage a newspaper both financially and editorially. Her expertise lies in sexual health, disability and queer-inclusive reporting. In all her work, Isabel brings compassion, curiosity and a focus on diversity.
